As a mum of human and canine teenagers, I know how quickly life moves.
One minute you’re carrying a baby on your hip and the next you’re watching them walk into high school. Somewhere between school drop-offs, sports carnivals, work deadlines and endless loads of washing, the years seem to disappear.
That’s exactly why I started The Newport Studio.
Not because I think every family needs perfect photos.
Because I think every family deserves evidence of their beautiful, ordinary, extraordinary life.
Most of the families who walk through my doors tell me the same thing:
“We’ve been meaning to do this for years.”
“We don’t have any photos of all of us together.”
“My partner hates having photos taken.”
“My kids won’t cooperate.”
The truth? Almost nobody arrives feeling completely confident in front of a camera. And that’s OK.
My job isn’t to make your family look like someone else’s family.
My job is to help you slow down for an hour, have some fun and create photographs that feel like you.
The Newport Studio specialises in family photography, pet photography and professional headshots for clients across Sydney’s Northern Beaches, including Newport, Mona Vale, Avalon, Warriewood and surrounding suburbs.
Whether you’re celebrating a new baby, documenting a season of family life, creating artwork for your home or updating your professional imagery, every session is designed to feel relaxed, natural and genuinely enjoyable.
WHY FAMILY PHOTOS MATTER
A recent survey found that 88% of mums say they’re always the ones taking the photo and more than half (58%) said they’re “almost never” in family photos. Yet those are often the photographs children treasure most later in life.
Research has also shown that displaying family photographs in the home can help children develop a stronger sense of belonging, identity and connection to their family story.
That’s why I believe photographs aren’t just for today.
They’re for your children.
And one day, they’ll be everything.
I’d love to help you create them.
The Newport Studio acknowledges the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which we live and work, the Garigal people of the Dharug nation. We pay our respect to their elders past and present.
