When will my photographs be ready?

We usually schedule a design and ordering session within two weeks of your shoot. Turnaround time is roughly four weeks for prints and frames after ordering. Albums and other custom items can take up to six weeks.

What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?

If we’re talking about the sleepy newborn type of photos, the session needs to happen up to 3 weeks after birth. There are certain tips and tricks that can help you get ready for the session, which I will share with you in a detailed client guide, after you’ve booked your session and signed the contract.

Can I cancel my booking?

We understand that life gets busy and life with kids can be unpredictable – but we also have a small business to run and other clients to accomodate so wherever possible we ask for as much notice as possible should you need to change or cancel your appointment (be it your photoshoot or your design & ordering session).

We usually take a $95 deposit which strictly speaking we could retain should you just not show up. But we prefer the carrot rather than the stick approach (!) so to say thank you for showing up and saying you care, we can either refund that $95 or should you wish to put it towards prints we will turn it into $150 (*at your first booked design session*) Hope that makes sense, and thank you for your understanding!

How should we dress for our family session?

Depending on your session type and theme, we’ll discuss some ideas for outfits and colours - and you can check out our blog and Pinterest for further pointers. But generally speaking, stick to something comfortable and neutral/muted earthy tones (beige, white, cream, light green, faded rust) work best. Avoid logos and striking patterns, don't dress everyone in matching outfits. The number one rule is avoid anything that distracts from the main attraction - YOU!

We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?

Most people feel a bit anxious around the camera, and that’s completely normal. Most of us aren't used to having a professional camera pointing at us all the time! We have endless tricks tol help you and your family loosen up, feel relaxed and completely forget about the camera. You’ll be you, and we'll be there capturing your lovely family time.

Do you offer refunds?

If you need to cancel your photoshoot then we can refund your booking fee or deposit. However, when it comes to prints, because they are all custom-designed and made, we are unable to offer returns and exchanges. We will of course replace items if they are defective or damaged. If your wall art arrives damaged, we will happily offer a refund (or free replacement including shipping) of the damaged item. Make sure to reach out within 14 days of the damaged product delivery. Please contact us as soon as possible if you change your mind about your artwork order and we will do our best to amend it before it goes into production!

PRIVACY POLICY

The Newport Studio may collect information from you when you register on our site, subscribe to our newsletter or fill out a form. When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: name, email address, mailing address or phone number. You may, however, visit our site anonymously.

The safety of your information is important to us therefore we implement a variety of security measures when you enter, submit, or access your personal information.

REFUNDS & RETURNS POLICY

Because of the nature of our custom-designed and made products, we are unable to offer returns and exchanges. We can only replace items if they are defective or damaged. Orders

All our orders go through a rigorous quality check before they are shipped out. After an item is shipped, things have moved beyond our control. Shipping (particularly for international orders) is affected by many outside influences. If you’d like an update on your order, please contact the shipping company with your order number or use the tracking number or link.


Order cancellations

A placed order can be cancelled without any problems if the order hasn’t been sent to production yet. If the product is already in production, that means that images and funds have already been transferred to the print lab and framers. However, if you contact us as soon as possible we will do our best to attempt to cancel the order and gain a refund from our suppliers.


Gift certificate terms & conditions

  1. Once a session booking is made, a minimum of three days notice is required for cancellation or postponement of an appointment.
  2. Gift certificates and VIP Experience vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, are not redeemable for cash and may only be used as described.
  3. Cannot be used to purchase images from a previous photography session.
  4. Voucher is only valid for the date specified and must be booked according to the terms of that specific offer (ie weekdays only, all family members required to attend, no more than three children etc)

COPYRIGHT INFORMATION

It is illegal to copy or reproduce these photographs elsewhere without The Newport Studio’s permission. All photographs, both on website and Facebook, including all potential proofs and purchased prints, are copyrighted; reproduction of any image by any means, including copying, re-printing, screen captures, and other means of print reproduction are strictly prohibited and are a violation of copyright law. Additionally, it is illegal to post any photographer’s work on the Internet, blogs and social networking sites, without the express permission of the photographer. The only exception to this is if you have purchased the print release in which case sharing on personal social media pages, web pages or blogs is allowable but credit and link back to The Newport Studio is required. As artists, The Newport Studio wishes to have complete control over the final look of her client's images, and scanned images damage her reputation as a photographer by distorting and devaluing the image quality. Thank you for respecting The Newport Studio’s work and livelihood by choosing not to reproduce her images. The Newport Studio reserves the right to use the negatives and/or reproductions for display publication or other purposes. Negatives and originals remain the property of The Newport Studio.
